The 2015 Farhang Heritage Award was awarded to renowned Iranian artist Shirin Neshat.

Born in Iran and mastered her skills in the U.S., Neshat broke stereotypes and rose to acclaimed international artist status with her groundbreaking Women of Allah photography series in the 1990s. Neshat’s body of work is perhaps most renowned for both its stunning visuals and its exploration of the role of women within the constraints of misogyny and religion.
